| Salty Sharky was as much a part of the MWVHSC as the circuit itself. Sharky was shown in Stock Type Halter, Adult Fit & Show, Leadline Halter, Leadline Equitation, Walk Trot, Western Pleasure and Open Trail. He was even shown in a few huntseat classes. Because of his excellent temperment, Sharky was a dependable parade horse and was ridden in many North Country Parades and Celebrations. Sharky will be remembered for his burnished copper coat and his terrific patience with all of us and our requests of him. Sharky was the chosen mount for many who were just starting and he is responsible for many successful "first rides". He was also chosen by friends who needed a horse to catch ride. But Sharky was no slouch when it came to "git up 'n go". He was a regular member of the Lancaster Fair Color Guard and when asked he could flat out gallop and cut maneuvers at speed. Salty Sharky has left those of us fortunate enough to have known him with wonderful memories. The MWVHSC will honor this dear gelding with the Salty Sharky Memorial Trophy, which will be presented to the winner of the Western Pleasure Year End Championship. |
