April Alonzo
when they started out coming to the circuit shows. Such is the
case of our dear horse show secretary, April Alonzo.
April who is a lifetime lover of all animals, always loved horses in
particular. Although she never lived where she could be near
horses or keep one, she never gave up her dream of someday
owning a horse.
April started her "hands on" with horses by taking on the
daunting task of MWVHSC secretary following the retirement of
Aunt Violet. The circuit gave her the opportunity to see all
breeds of horses and the respective types of riding.
April was quick to learn the ins and outs of horse shows and has
become a valued member of the 'crew'.
After two years of watching everyone else enjoy their horses,
April's dream has come to life. By a chance of great luck, she
was able to purchase the good Morgan mare, Jewel, from
Marilyn Hannah. Jewel and this writer's horse, Easy Eyed Lady
are currently stabled in Northumberland where we both enjoy
our critters very much.
The MWVHSC would like to thank April for all she does for our
families at the show booth by honoring her with a MWVHSC
Family Star.
