MWVHSC Family
Miss Dixie
Every so often a special horse passes through the gates of our show ring
and along the strings to our hearts.
Miss Dixie was one of those special horses. Miss Dixie was the beloved
Palomino mare that the Smith family used in competition following the
passing of their first show horse, Salty Sharky.
Miss Dixie was shown in Showmanship by Shirley, Jadyn and Daniel. She was
ridden in LeadLine by Jadyn and Walk Trot by Daniel also. She was shown in
Costume classes and used in many parades. She was a great family horse.
Miss Dixie's tragic encounter with a greedy bear ended forever, our
enjoyment of this popular and well known mare.
The MWVHSC extends it's condolences to the family and would like to honor
Miss Dixie by awarding her a MWVHSC Family Star.
